Strong effort put SM South swimmers in 7 of 11 event finals tomorrow.
SM South Results
Top 8 finishers swim in the “A” Championship Final tomorrow. Places 9-16 swim the “B” Championship Final.
Dive semi-finals are tonight for Mia Musson (7th), Ophelia Shapiro (11th) and Eden Alderman (19th). Divers will complete three dives, and the top 16 will advance to compete in tomorrow’s championships.

Three of four SM South divers advanced to the Dive Semi-Finals on Friday night. Today the divers completed 5 dives. The top 20 scores advance to the Semi-Finals.

Senior Chloe Hubbard concludes her SM South diving career finishing 28th with 119.25 points. Congratulations Chloe!

Entries for the State Swim & Dive meet are final. See the meet “psych sheet” which shows entries and seeding by event.
Congratulations to Ella Buss and Katie Horner who were both added to the 100 free. Ella’s consideration time was just .01 second from qualifying at 57.82, and Katie made it with a 59.02.
The hard-luck award goes to Sarah Ohlde. In the 50 free there were exactly 24 qualifiers so no consideration times were taken. And in the 100 free she missed by just .1 second. She will swim the 4×100 free relay.

Tuesday is “consideration day” when KSHSAA will release the list of swimmers with state consideration times that have been added to the meet. On Wednesday, the official psych sheet will be released showing final entries by event.

Congratulations to the team and coaches on taking third overall at this year’s Sunflower League Championship Meet, behind SM East and this year’s champions, Lawrence High School.
It was a great team effort: all four divers placed in the top 16 (with Mia on the podium, and Chloe qualifying for state), and the swimmers followed up an outstanding prelims on Friday with solid swims all afternoon. All three relays were on the podium, along with Olivia, Lydia, and Ella.
Congratulations everyone. The state meet is in two weeks.
