Team dinner is being hosted at the home of Tove Krussow following practice on Wednesday.

Kansas 6A State Swim & Dive Championships will take place at SMSDAC May 20-21.  Please mark your calendars and come out to cheer on the Raiders!

 

Important Dates:

Thursday, 5/12 (7:00 pm) -Team Banquet

Location: SMS Cafeteria.  This year the team will host a dessert bar in celebration of our swimmers and divers!  Join us as each team member is recognized by their coaches.  The night will also include introduction of the state team, senior speeches & naming of the 2023 team captains.

Booster Club Positions:

The current booster club board will remain in place for the 2023 season, and will then be graduating on.  Please consider shadowing the booster club next year so the team experiences a seamless transition for the girls.  Positions include President, Treasurer & Communications/Volunteer Coordinator.  Contact Meg Guthrie with interest: megguth@aol.com

Weekly Highlights & Notes

Important Dates:

Monday, 5/2 – Team Dinner.  Team dinner to follow practice at the home of Grace Rood.  9919 Rosewood.  Thank you to the Rood & Ohlde families for making this dinner great!

Tuesday, 5/3 – Sunflower JV League Meet.  Location: SMSDAC 3:30 pm.  Coach Berg will release JV swimmers at 1:30 to travel to SMSDAC.  Meet begins at 3:30 pm. This will be the final day of swim team for girls swimming in this meet.

Thursday, 5/5 – Sunflower League Dive Prelims.   Location: SMSDAC 4:30 pm.  Coach Berg will release divers at 2:00 pm to travel to SMSDAC.  Warm ups at 3:00 pm.  Meet at 4:30 pm.

Friday, 5/6 – Sunflower Varsity League Swim Prelims.  Location: SMSDAC 4:30 pm.  Coach Berg will release swimmers at 2:00 pm.  Warm ups at 3:00 pm.  Meet starts at 4:30 pm.  Top 24 advance to Finals.  Top 16 score, 17-24 place times count for qualifying for 6A State Competition.

Saturday, 5/7 – Sunflower Varsity League Swim & Dive Finals.  Location: SMSDAC.

Diving finals: warm up begins at 9:00 am.  Competition at 10:00 am.

Swimming finals: warm ups are from 11:00 am – 12:15 pm.  Competition to begin approx. 12:30 pm.
