The clinic will be open to all students in 3rd-8th grade interested in learning stroke technique, starts & turns. The clinic will include fun relays, a special treat and a Raider Swim & Dive t-shirt. Cost will be $25 per person. Space limited. Please help us get the word out by telling neighbors & friends about this event! More details about the fundraiser to follow.
Team Suits
SwimQuik will be providing suits for the Girls Swim & Dive Team.
If you are unsure what size to get, you can get fitted at SwimQuik (8693 Bluejacket, Overland Park, KS 66214). Deadline: Monday, March 7th.
We would like all swimmers & divers to have the opportunity to wear the Raider Team suit. Team scholarship is available for anyone needing assistance with the purchase of this suit.
Your timely registration helps us update the team mailing list, order senior banners for display in the pool area, and ensures team shirts can be ordered as soon as possible so the girls can have them available for the early meets.
Your support of the team through Booster Club plays a critical role and benefits the entire team. In addition to providing much needed support for team activities and expenses including Senior Night, End of Season Celebration, athlete recognition, and the team website and related costs, each participant receives a team shirt and banquet dinner.
New team members, please note, this is different than the “team interest form” you filled out earlier.
Volunteer Opportunities
Timers Needed: No experience needed. We ask that each family sign-up at least once.
Refer to the official Sunflower League Calendar Here for this year’s meet schedule. All times/locations are subject to change.
Team Communications
The SMS Raider Swim Website (including the event and practice calendar) and the team mailing list are the primary communications tools used throughout the season.
It was SO wonderful to be able to celebrate with the boys last night! A BIG thanks to all of those that helped make the night a success. Special thanks to Stephanie Campbell for creating the programs, Susan Toney for decorations & Jon Toney for creating the video presentation.
Team Captains:
2021-2022 Captains (Joe Barreca, Ryan Owens & Lucas Beach) congratulated 2022-2023 Captains (Max Toney, Kyle Gellhaus, Graham Hopkins & Carson Guthrie) with shiny new hats. Thank you, Senior Captains, for leading by example, showing the team that hard work & dedication pay off! You will be greatly missed next year.
Booster President Robyn Barreca
Robyn worked tirelessly this year to make sure the team had everything it needed, and so much more! Besides the coordination of team suits, team shirts, senior banners, senior night and organizing the banquet, she could also be seen behind the wheel of a truck, driving the team’s homecoming float (with a pool in the back) or selling concessions at the football game. Robyn’s heart for helping others lead the team into service projects with Trunk or Treat benefitting the Johnson County Christmas Bureau, and the MLK clothing drive benefitting the SMSD Clothing Center. Robyn placed countless posters around school, and wrote announcements to recognize the boys for their accomplishments. Robyn, thank you for making a difference to this team both in and out of the water!
